Step 1 slide the vinyl siding removal tool just under the bottom lip of the uppermost piece of vinyl siding and pry gently upwards.

The trim secures the edges of vinyl in position and hides any nail heads.
Insert the siding removal tool where the panels overlap and pull down and out.
Vinyl siding is installed from the bottom up so you must loosen it in the opposite direction.
Look under the siding piece you just located for a short flat notch.
Look for a horizontal seam between two courses of vinyl siding.
Vinyl siding is installed from bottom to top so start at the top and work your way down when removing it.

Once the snap seal releases use gloved fingers to loosen the siding to a distance of 3 feet from the corner.
Once the zip tool is latched onto the lip pull the siding piece downward and slide the tool horizontally across the entire length of the panel unhooking the lip.
This pulls out the bottom.
Reveal the nails anchoring a piece to the wall by sticking the zip tool under the bottom of the piece above it.

Pull the piece of vinyl siding downward to disengage it from the course below it.
Use a cat s paw or other small pry bar to pull the nails from the course you need to remove.
Pull down on the zip tool as you twist it slightly.
