Step 1 extend awning slightly.
How to repair rv awning spring.
Keep your hand on the spring as you release the cotter pin and do not let do suddenly or the spring might pop up and damage the fabric of your rv awning.
Make sure to wipe the backside too.
Pin the opposite awning spring with a cotter pin.
This helps hold everything in place.
Pulling will increase the tear or a hole.
Release the travel locks on the awning arms and release the cam lock if it still holds at all.
As you are cleaning go slowly because you don t want to damage the awning more.
Extend the awning out approximately 1 foot and prop it in place with the board for now.
