Pump handle as many times as needed to set the rivet. Use the rivet tool according to instructions to pull the rivet through. A narrow riveting area should prompt a small rivet 1 8 because you do not want to drill a large hole for a thicker rivet which could weaken the gutter material in the riveted area causing failure of the gutter material under stress. Insert the longer part of the rivet into the gun and make sure the shorter end is already in the hole. After you have measured the rivets and chosen your drill bit to use don t start drilling quite yet.
