The htc vive setup guide recommends base stations are placed up to 16 3 ft diagonally which makes a square play area that s 11 5 ft on each side.
After setting up how do i turn the vive system on.
Can i include space occupied by furniture for the play area.
The maximum area with four base stations is up to 10 m x 10 m 32 ft 10 in x 32 ft 10 in.
It might also be due to accuracy for the lighthouses.
Current max size that is taken from the manual is most likely because of the cord length.
For room scale vr you will need a minimum of 2 meters by 1 5 meters of free space 6 5ft x 5ft and the maximum distance between base stations is 5 meters 16ft.
The max size according to the manual is 5m in diagonal between the base stations.
Base stations windows and mirrors also need to be considered.
In addition to room scale vr vive supports seated and standing vr experiences both of which do not have a minimum space requirement.
The minimum play area remains to be at 2 m x 1 5 m 6 ft 6 in x 5 ft and could support sitting standing setup with four base stations in a row.
My ebay vive should be arriving tomorrow i have a large living room and i want to set it up for the larget size possible.
However as black blade said those guys over at hover junkers managed to do it with a lot higher range.
